This contest is open to all Branch Officers and members also. 28. The Board further discussed the Bowling Tournament and Fellowship Days and it hoped that as many bowlers as passible take an active part in the festivi­ties of the Fellowship Days, and the Bowling banquet to make it a huge suc­cess. Moved, seconded, that banquet tickets will be available to the bowlers and membership at a cost of $5.00 per person. 29. In recognition of services rendered to the Association by Steve Dobozi, Branch 26, Sharon, Pennsylvania, the Branch adopted the following resolution: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Mr. Steve Dobozi, Presi­dent of Branch 26, Sharon, Pennsylvania, has faithfully served as an Officer of Branch 26 as Juvenile Branch Treasurer from 1932 to 1937, Branch Recording Secretary from 1938 to 1956, and as Branch President from 1957 to the pres­ent day, and WHEREAS, Mr. Dobozi has qualified for the Association’s Illustrious Citation Award, NOW, THEREFORE, be and it is here­by resolved by the Board of Directors that in recognition of his 40 years of dedicated service to Branch 26, Sharon, Pennsyl­vania, Mr. Steve Dobozi, President of the Branch, be awarded the Illustrious Cita­tion and Lapel Pin. 30. Moved, seconded and the Board adopted the following resolution pertain­ing to dividends: RESOLUTION Be it resolved by the Board of Directors in regular quarterly meeting assembled that Dividends for the calendar year 1972 be declared on those certificates only which are based on the following Mortal­ity Tables. a) American Men 21/4>Ü5 issued from January 1, 1949 to June 30, 1956. b) 1941 C.S.O. 21/2% issued from July 1, 1956 to December 31, 1965. c) 1958 C.S.O. issued from January 1, 1966 to current date. The amount of dividend declared is that which is contained in the regular tables of the Association for the respec­tive certificates. Be it further resolved that dividend payments already made or credited in 1972 be approved. 31. The Board acknowledged receipt of letter of thanks from Illustrious Member. Albert V. Kocsis, Branch 1. Bridgeport. Connecticut for the Illustrious Citation which was presented to him at a banque' in his honor. The Board further acknowledged re­ceipt of letters of thanks for donations ex­tended to the following: Rev. Dr. László Berzevoczky, Magyar Reformed Radio Program; Hungarian Catholic League of America, Inc.; Junior Achievement Com­mittee of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Radio Station WQED; and Hungarian Studies Foundation. Helen MacFarlane, Branch 48, New York for Sick Benefit. The Western Penn­sylvania National Bank appreciates the Association utilizing its banking facilities. The Board also acknowledged receipt of letters of thanks from Mrs. James Emody, Mrs. Marion Úsztok, and Mr. and Mrs. Louis A. Fodor and family on their tecent bereavement. 32. The Board acknowledged an invita­tion from Branch 51, Passaic, New Jersey to attend the New Jersey Dinner-Dance or. April 15, 1972. The Board accepted the invitation with thanks and the Home Office will be represented at the banquet. 33. The Board acknowledged the re­ceipt of a letter from Mr. Michael Sneer, Manager of Branch 230, Terre Haute, Ind., requesting the Association to increase the allotments to Branch Managers. The Board can not comply with his request. 34. The Board acknowledged the request of John Lawrence, of Birmingham, Mich., to place in the Association’s Archives, the Hungarian Heritage collection he has made over the years. The Board has no objection in complying with the request provided it is the type of material consistent with the Association’s aims, goals and philosophy. 35. National Secretary, Albert J. Stel­­kovics, read letters from the Wisconsin Fraternal Congress and Missouri Frater­nal Congress requesting oar membership ir their Fraternal Congress. Moved, se­conded and the Board approved that the Association forward the membership fees to these two organizations and other State Congresses where deemed necessary by the Staff. 36. The Board is pleased to hear a letter from Mr. Charles Klein, Editor of the Wisconsin Magyarság in which he re­ported in detail the Testimonial Dinner held in honor of Mr. Martin Dolezar for many years an active Officer of Branch 275, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. 37. At the August 1971, Board Meeting, Branch 18, Detroit, Michigan was desirous of purchasing the District Office in Lincoln Park from the Association. The Board acknowledged this request, and offered to sell the property to Branch 18 for the unpaid balance of the mortgage as shown on the Association’s records at the time of sale. To date the Board has not received a reply to this offer, nor to the follow-up letter of National Secretary to Branch President Danko. 38. Several letters from Officers and members of Branch 18 Detroit, Michigan with respect to Point 1 and Point 55, Minutes of the Board of Directors Meet­ing dated November 15, 1971 are read. After hearing the content of these letters it was the decision of the Board that it acted properly at the November Meeting and because there are threats of litigation. General Counsel Banes is requested to reply. 39. The Executive Committee was re­quested to consider the feasibility of pro­moting an Annual Golfing Tournament as a fraternal activity. 40. Rev. Andrew P. Jacobs presented his personal donation of $100.00 to the Scholarship Foundation. Director John Sabo informed the Board that Branch 226 of McKeesport, Pennsyl­­\ania conducted a very successful affair, a Candlelight Ball for the benefit of the -Scholarship Foundation. Proceeds of $832.50 was realized for the Foundation. (See a published list of all donors to the Scholarship Fund elsewhere in this issue.) 41. Moved, seconded and the Board ap­proved the purchase of Hungarian Lan­guage Books - Basic Course 1-12 for the benefit of members who wish to learn the Hungarian language. The books will be purchased from the Foreign Service Sec­tion of the State Department, Washington, D. C. 42. In his closing remarks, National President Charles expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation on behalf of him­self and his fellow officers for the kind expressions which have been spread on the records of this meeting pertaining to the results of our operation this past year. He pledged to continue his efforts and put forth new energy to bring about ex­tended benefits to the membership of the Association. He extended best wishes to the Board for a pleasant return to their homes, and he wished to convey to the membership at large a very Happy Easter Holiday and with anticipation looks forward to a suc­cessful Bowling Tournament. 43. Chairman of the Board, John P. Balia, also thanked the Board Members and National Officers for their fine co­operation at this meeting. He felt the many important decisions brought forth will bring good results to the Association. He too extended best wishes to all for a pleasant Easter Holiday Season. 44.
