O F I OF FRA APOLOGIES AND APPRECIATION THE WILLIAM PENN TERNAL ASSOCIATION As most of our readers well know, the Association embarked on a program of completely revamping our billing system with the idea in mind to furnish our members a more meaningful payment due Notice, among other things, indicating for those who are eligible to share in dividend declarations, a statement of dividends receivable on Toledo Is Ready and Waiting for Bowlers and Guests Branch 27 Toledo, officers and committee extend a cordial welcome to all bowlers and guests to the 27th Annual National Bowling Tournament and Fel-Air view of Toledo, O., our Tournanent City. lowship Days to be held at the beautiful Imperial Bowling Lanes and headquarters at the Commodore Perry Motor Inn during the Memorial Day week-end, May 30 and May 31, 1970. We would like to assist those who are planning to drive to Toledo — Directions to the Commodore Perry Motor Inn: Coming from the East—get off at Exit 5, Stony Ridge—then approximately a 10 mile drive to the Huron Street exit. Huron Street is a one way street (Continued on page 4) certificate anniversary date. Unfortunately, as with many new computer programs, we ran into problems which were not anticipated and certainly not wanted, but the problepis arose and it required the patience of all of our members to bear with us during the period required to correct “program bugs”. As you will read in the Board Minutes, in this issue the Board dealt with this problem at length, and when our payment notices were mailed later in March than in February, we believed this to be the last straw, until the April billings at which time it was discovered that those who were billed as advance payers in March with a due date for April, received a second notice the middle of April even though members had made payments. Of course the secAll roads lead to the Commodore Perry Motor Inn, Toledo, Ohio ond advance notices were based on payments received by closing of March and in most cases, because March bills were late, it was a physical impossibility for members to pay before the close. Our dedicated office employees together with the Branch Officers and Representatives at the District Offices are attempting to answer the myriad of mail and phone calls which has been received as a result of these billing errors. If you made your payment and receive a second payment notice, please disregard it. Your payment will be reflected in your next billing, so again thanks to all who are bearing with us during this transition period. The other problem which many members are having is the new minimum $5.00 monthly payment mode introduced by the Board last September which became effective this year. Under the provisions of this rule, if a member’s monthly payment adds up to $15.00 or less per year, he must pay annually and his payment due notice so shows. If the monthly payment adds up to between $15.01 and $30.00 per year, the member may pay annually or semi-annually, in these instances notices are automatically changed to semi-annual mode. If a member’s monthly payment, on any one certificate, adds up to between $30.01 and $60.00 per year, he may pay quarterly, semi-annually or annually. The computer automatically changed this group to a quarterly mode. If the members monthly payment adds up to $60.01 per year or more, he may pay monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually. This does not affect anyone who was already an annual payor prior to the new Board ruling. We apologize to those who were incorrectly billed or billed late and we thank those who understood the problems we were facing and sympathized with our efforts to correct same. It is our firm hope and belief that the May payment due notices which will have already been mailed by the time you read this article are in all respects correct. Again we wish to state, if you receive a payment notice for an amount your recently paid, please ignore the second payment due notice.
