RULING ON MEMBERS ATTAINING AGE 85 An explanatory letter was sent to each Branch in December to explain exactly which members attaining Age 85 January 1, 1970, with certificates based on Ameri­can Table of Mortality, 4%. The Board ruling applies ONLY to those members whose certificates were issued as follows: 1. Former Verhovay Certificates issued prior to January 1, 1936. Thus if your Verhovay Certificate was issued Janu­ary 1, 1936 or after the ruling does not apply to you and premiums must be paid hereafter during the insureds lifetime. 2. Former Rákóczi certificates issued be­tween August 1, 1930 and December 31, 1937. Thus if your Rákóczi certifi­cate was issued January 1, 1938 or thereafter, the member is not exempt from payment of dues. 3. Former Workingmens Sick Benefit Certificates issued prior to July 1, 1938 are exempt. If your certificate was issued by Workingmens Sick Benefit Federation July 1, 1938 or after, you are not exempt from pay­ment of dues at Age 85. Those belonging to the above men­tioned categories who become exempt from payment of dues upon attaining age 85 after January 1, 1970 and still are members of the sick benefit class may retain membership in the sick benefit by paying the prescribed premiums for sick benefit and branch fees. The Home Office is in the process of preparing Paid-up Endorsements for those who qualify and these will be mailed to the Branches for delivery and attaching to the membership certificate, or some may be mailed directly to the member if more convenient for the Home Office and Branch. Dear William Penn Members, Bowlers and Officers: The Toledo Bowling Tournament Committee, Branch 27 Officers and members invite you, your family and friends to the 27th annual Bowling Tournament which will be held on May 30 and May 31, 1970 (Memorial Day week-end). The time is drawing near for your teams to be organized for the annual National Bowling Tournament and Fellowship Days in Toledo, Ohio. Our headquarters will be the Commodore Perry Motor Lodge, 505 Jefferson Avenue, Toledo, Ohio. Parking facilities will be available at the Commodore. Bowling will start on Saturday morning, continuing on Sunday at Toledo’s finest Imperial Lanes, 5505 West Central Avenue, Toledo, Ohio, a 20 minute ride from the Commodore Perry Motor Lodge. Buses will be provided for transportation from 8:00 A.M. on. The Victory Dinner-Dance will start at 6:00 P.M. at the Hotel’s Grand Ballroom. We are happy to announce that we are contracting two orchestras to supply the music for dancing and part of the entertainment: Frank Borisz’s gypsy and John Veszpremi’s popular orchestra from Detroit, Mich. — We promise you short speeches and special program numbers. — Please order your Banquet tickets early. The Toledo Bowling Tournament Committee is diligently preparing for a successful and entertaining 27th annual tournament. If you would like to take advantage of your trip to Toledo, Ohio, come earlier and stay longer after the tournament from May 26 to June 6, 1970. The Hotel Management will extend to you, the William Penn bowlers and their guests, the same flat rate for rooms for the extra days.
