Our branch held its election of officers’ meeting in December and the following were elected, from left to right: Ethel Faczan, president; Steve Kedves, vice president; Betty Edmiston, secretary; Irma Slick, treasurer, Ethel C. Faczan and Loretta Zonin, auditors. Our sympathy goes out to the families of Mr. Paul Erdély, John Pecze and Mrs. Helen Kovács, All were members of Branch 8. May they rest in Peace. Betty M. Congratulations to our MILLION DOLLAR Salesman and Agency Manager of Branch 13, Dr. Arpad Nagy, who submitted ONE MILLION FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS of new Life Insurance with $27,000.00 premium in ONE YEAR. We are very fortunate to have such an experienced and qualified man, Dr. Arpad Nagy, to represent William Penn and to give such good consulting advice to our membership on their insurance problems. Dr. Arpad Nagy is the National Winner of the contest for the most written new business in 1968. Branch 13 Officers and Members wish to congratu­late him on being the Winner and wishing him a successful and prosperous year in 1969. It is here again, plans are being made for the great Fraternal Affair, the Annual Bowling Tournament, which all William Penn Bowlers look forward to every year, to be held in New York City, May 31st and June 1st, 1969. Branch 13 held a bowlers meeting on March 3rd and will have 3 or possibly 4 teams entering the Tournament. The Dinner-Dance Committee held another meeting on February 25th, 1969 for the Dinner-Dance to be held Satur­day, March 15th, 6:30 P.M. at the Polish American Club of Central Jersey, Route 130 at 156, Yardville, N. J. Re­ports from the Committee are great, and we anticipate a wonderful and success­ful affair. If by chance you miss this affair, please keep it in mind be­cause the Committee promises this will be an Annual Affair at Branch 13. Miss Margaret Kovach 14 Cleveland, Ohio Our monthly meeting was held as usual on the first Sunday in February. Jean Semetko won the attendance prize. There will be an attendance prize given away at each meeting. Final plans were made for our Card Party which was held February 23rd. We are proud to announce it was a huge success. Con­gratulations to Frank Ruskay the chair­man, whose hard work made it the success it was. Over 300 tickets were sold. Among those attending were Di­rector Dr. and Mrs. Andrew Kovács, Councilman of Ward 29, Robert D. Lavdis; Andrew Dono, President of the United Hungarian Societies and Aid to Mayor Stokes; Mrs. Irene Kleppel who represented her brother County Com­missioner Frank Pokorny; Mr. Charles Molscany and his family, Chuck an Engineer (with Ohio Bell Systems) was recently promoted and we extend our congratulations to him; Mrs. Virginia Ágoston, . President of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Hungarian Business Men’s Club; and Julia Kemeny writer for the Az Újság. We would like to thank all who helped to make this affair a success. The officers, the members of the ladies auxiliary, who baked, served, donated prizes and did the inescapable chore of cleaning up the kitchen. Thanks to Mike Jones, Denny Nagy, Joe Semet­ko and Pat Karnya. Special thanks to Mary Karnya, Bill Kastan, J. L. Balia, Mrs. Tatai and Mrs. Ladvany and the Ladies Auxiliary President, Betty Knapp. There were many lovely door prizes donated by the local merchants and the members, it seemed everyone left with at least one prize. Special thanks to Jimmy Orosz, owner of Settler’s Res­taurant. We remind our members that there is ' authentic Hungarian music featuring Sándor and his violin every week-end at the Settler’s Juvenile mem­bers drawing the winning tickets were Charlene Molscany, Thomas Balia and John G. Balia. Everyone attending had a delightful afternoon and we will look forward to our next get-together. Belated birthday greetings to Bill Kastan, and a happy 22nd wedding anniversary to him and Dorothy. Get well wishes to Frank Szappanos, J. J. Horvath and Mr. Barrie. — Happy birthdays to Frank Ruskay and Pat Karnya, also to Joe Kovach who cel­ebrated his 76th. Congratulations to our fellow members at Branch 45, Dr. Julius Nadas, Sigmond Raki, and Joseph Arvay who were pre­sented Illustrious Citations by the Board of Directors for their long years of service to the Association. The presenta­tion was made by Dr. Andrew Kovács. We spent a lovely afternoon with Presi­dent Charles, Treasurer and Mrs. Julius Somogyi, Secretary and Mrs. Albert Stelkovics, and Mr. Gus Nagy. Twelve members of Branch 14 were there as delegates. For yours truly it was like a visit from the folks back home. We would like to mention here that our branch member and State Repre­sentative Mr. Anthony Russo has pre­sented before the Legislature three Bills which would, if passed, create tighter Criminal Laws for the Buckeye State, he would appreciate all those members in favor of such laws to write to him at the State Capitol Building in Colum­bus, Ohio. See you at the next meeting. Bernadette Balia, Reporter 19 New Brunswick, N. J. Our regular monthly meeting will be on Monday, March 24th at 286 Som­erset Street, Union Hall—8 P.M. It is the fourth Monday of the month. Be seeing you there. We attended a meeting in Trenton at Branch 13, in regards to the forth­coming Dinner-Dance on Saturday, March 15th. Everything points to a grand affair. So let’s plan to meet at this promising affair, and also at the May 31st and June 1st — Annual Bowling Tournament and Fellowship Days in New York. A new member has been added to our branch in the person of Jose R. Egues III, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jose R. Egues, Jr., he arrived on February 13, 1969—11:45 P.M. weighing in at 8 lbs.
