The commission in turn has elected Mr. Bero its chairman. Mr. Bero will begin serving as the commission chairman Nov. 1 succeeding Howard M. Benedict of New Haven. The governor’s reappointment of Mr. Bero was effective Oct. 1. The Bridge­­porter first was appointed to the com­mission a year ago when it was first formed under provisions of a new statute. Due to the recent death of Branch Manager Vendel Petrovits, the Home Office has appointed as Manager for president of Bero Enterprises and the Algonquin Company. A resident of the Bridgeport area 40 years, Mr. Bero has been in the real estate business 28 years. He personally specializes in com­mercial and industrial real estate. Mr. Bero is a former president of the Bridgeport Board of Realtors and now serves on its board of directors. He is a member of the Connecticut Association of Real Estate Boards, the Broker’s Institute, and the National As­sociation of Real Estate Boards, Inc. He also is a member of the Algonquin Club and the YMCA. Mr. Bero is president of Branch 1, William Penn Fraternal Association and he is also a national director. He is a sponsor of the Brooklawn Little League and a member of the Barnum Festival Society. Mr. Bero is a consistory member of the United Church of Christ and a member of the finance and building committee of that church. On March 9, 1966 Mr. Bero estab­lished the “Frank Bero Library Fund” in the general area of real estate and economics at the University of Bridge­port. Mr. Bero is married to the former Julia C. Fox and they have five children. The Connecticut Real Estate commis­sion was created by the General As­sembly. The commission deals with the real estate licensing law and regulations concerning the conduct of real estate brokers and salesmen. Mr. Bero is the first Bridgeporter to be named to the commission and he is the first Fairfield County resident to serve as chairman of this state board. Branch 2, Kulpmont, Pa. At the last Branch Meeting plans were made to hold the Annual Children’s Christmas Party, for our little members on Sunday, December 8th, 1968 at 2 P.M. at the St. Stephen’s Parish Hall. All juvenile members of Branch 13 are invited and will be receiving invitations by mail. Please attend, arrangements are being made to have a wonderful Christmas Party. Miss Margaret Kovach 14 Cleveland, Ohio BUCKEYE STATE WATCHTOWER The Grape Festival of Br. 14 was held Saturday, October 19th, 1968 at Bethlen Hall. About 400 people attended. The dancers were led by Miss Rita Karnya. John Palacsis and Joseph Kovach our treasurer sold admission .gnd lunch tickets. The kitchen was manned by Mrs. Ladanyi, Mrs. Isak, Mrs. Kemeny, Mrs. Gallo, and Mrs. Tatai. Mrs. Ilona Palacsis was dressed in a Hungarian costume as well as the dancers. The orchestra played well, they called them­selves The Dunántúli. Branch President Nicholas Juhasz an­nounced that the yearly Christmas Party will be held on Sunday, December 15th, 1968, at Kossuth Hall (East Blvd. and Buckeye Rd.) for all Branch 14 chil­dren. As usual the Home Office will provide thru the Br. Christmas gifts with the convention approval. Refresh­ments will be served, and as it has been done in the past the Christmas carols will be led by our vice-president Ed Torda who has an operatic voice and is well liked by everybody. President Nicholas Juhasz invites all Branch 14 members to its meeting which will be held on Sunday, December 1st, 1968 at Kossuth Hall. This being the 2
