A FIRST IN OUR HISTORY We at William Penn are happy to announce that two of our loyal members outlived the American Experience Mor-National Director and Supervisor of Agencies Frank J. These are the first in our Association’s history: Mrs. Peter Ban of Branch 18, Detroit, Mich., and Mr. Joseph Hada of Branch 70, Newark, N. J. The 97-year-old Mr. Hada lives in Lakeland, Fla., his daughter, Mrs. Yo­­nadi accepted the endowment check for him in Newark, N. J. Somogyi, treasurer; Board Chairman John P. Balia; Board Members: Stephen Danko, Michael Hegedűs, and Legal Ad­visor: Guy B. The celebration was held in the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Union Home in Lake­land, Florida. tion on June 24th, 1968 at Ligonier, Pa. — It was very comforting to meet old friends again, to see them working diligently, as in the past, towards the same goals as we have. — It is also noteworthy to mention that they did an excellent job. — Our congratulations to the Convention Delegates and the newly elected Board of Directors and Officers. Our national president, Elmer Charles had the pleasure of addressing the Honor­able Officers, Delegates and Guests at the start of the Convention. His message follows: As a faithful member of the Reformed Federation I am happy to take this opportunity to extend greetings on this your 28th convention. We are thankful to God that throughout all these years He has not only protected you so that you could grow and prosper, not only in number but more importantly in services to your fellow-men. I sincerely hope and pray that this convention, which is on the threshold of a new and visionary future, will introduce new ideas and accept a still much larger share of services to its people. However I came not only as a member of the Reformed Federation to greet the convention, but at your kind invita­tion, as National President of the William Penn Fraternal Association, who with my fellow National Officers deem it a privilege and honor to extend to you the greetings and good wishes, of the largest and strongest Hungarian Fraternal Benefit Society to this self­­proclaimed largest Hungarian and Re­formed group. Because of our dramatic preoccupation and in the service of trying to protect a large Hungarian flock from the hungry wolves who would destroy it, we thought that we would be forced to send our greetings in writing. Since, however, the Reformed Federation came this close to Pittsburgh, we just had to find sufficient time to come over here to Ligonier to demonstrate personally our greetings and good wishes and prayerful hopes to (Continued on Page 3)
