We are happy to report that Branch 13 is now under the Agency System, and Dr. Arpad Nagy has been appointed Agency Manager. All the officers, mem­bers and friends of Branch 13 wish him the best of luck and success. Will hear more about Dr. Nagy in the next issue. Our Branch will be honoring six 50- Year Members at the New Jersey State William Penn Dinner Dance on Satur­day, April 20, 1968, at the H.A.A.C. Auditorium in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The members are Stephen Csaji, John Hegedűs, Frank Radvany, Sr., Mrs. William Jelencsics, Ignác Katona and Mrs. Michael Kelaber. We are looking forward with pleasure to joining all these 50-Year Members for this great event. Plans are being made to go to the Tournament in Youngstown, Ohio. There will be 14 going from Branch 13. Entries are in for IV2 Men’s Team and 2 Girl’s will team up with Perth Amboy, N. J. Good luck to all our bowlers. Members, our regular Branch Meet­ings are held every first Sunday of the month at 2 P.M., at the District Office 1030 S. Broad Street. Next meeting will be held on May 5th. President Nick Yuhasz Sr. invites all Br. 14 members to the May 5th meeting, which is the first Sunday of the month at Kossuth Hall (cor. East Blvd. and Buckeye) at 2:00 P.M. The Officers of Br. 14 and Yours Truly wishes a happy Mothers Day to all our women members who are mothers “God bless them”. Correction: Nick Yuhasz Sr. and Bert Szilagyi were elected delegates to the United Hungarian Societies, and Joseph Kovach and Joseph J. Horvath were elected delegates from the Szabolcs Megyei Club. William Torda was a scribe to this sheet many years ago, and he was an excellent writer. The Hungarian Elite Ball which is held every year for the benefit of Divine Redeemer Home For The Aged, was a tremendous success. The proceeds will go into the Building Fund for a $1,500,000 new building of 65 rooms. Mr. Stromp has been a member for over 55 years. Congratulations. Member Ted Szalay works in the Sign Division for the city of Cleveland. Judge Joseph Stearns was elected chairman of the Hungarian Cultural Gardens, replacing Judge Louis Petrash who died. Mr. Urban a respected member and former treasurer of Br. 14 lost his son, Joseph, through a serious illness—he was only 50 years old. He was also a member. The March meeting of Br. 14 was a little turbulent, however everything turned out all righht. Ed Torda sang happy birthday to the celebrants, and his wife Katherine baked doughnuts, and with refreshments to wash it down it made for a nice get-together. Mr. Bela Berta­lan member of Br. 14 is 90 years old. The Altar Society of the First Hun­­grian Lutheran Church celebrated their 60th anniversary Sunday, March 17th, 1968 at Kossuth Hall. Many Happy returns. Ex Animo Joseph J. Horvath 16 Perth Amboy, N. J. Robert Nagy, a sophomore at Rutgers University is one of the 25 members of the Air Force R.O.T.C. Queens Guard precision Drill team which will be traveling to Edinburg, Scotland, to at-ROBERT NAGY tend the international festival in August. This is the first time an American university will be represented in the Edinburg Military Tattoo. The Tattoo, featuring military units from around the world, is the most popular event of the annual cultural festival and draws more than 8,000 spectators daily. The Tattoo also reaches millions of Europeans when its opening day ceremonies are beamed throughout the continent by the BBC television network. Robert is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Nagy, 805 Terrace Ave., Wood­­bridge, N. J. He plans on becoming a doctor. Congratulations Robert, Branch 16 is just as proud as Mom and Dad. * Leonard J. Balog and Beatrix Bilinsky were two of the 4,530 New Jersey high school students entering college this fall, awarded State Scholarships. Leonard has been accepted at Gannon College, Penn, and will major in Biology. Beatrix will attend Trenton State and major in Social Studies. Best of Luck to both of you. * Our Boys Bantam bowling team ended the season in third place. This was a new team consisting of all first time bowlers. Thanks boys, for getting “Wil­liam Penn” out of last place. Captain of the Men’s Bowling Team, John Mészáros reported that the team won 12 Straight games. Hows the team doing in League standing? Don’t let the Bantam show you up. * Our Branch will hold our First Annual Dinner-Dance on May 11, 1968 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Hall, 388 Smith St., Perth Amboy, N. J. at 7:30 P.M.
