OFFICIAL PUBLICATION OF THE WILLIAM PENN FRATERNAL ASSOCIATION Over 100 Teams Registered For The 25th Bowling Tournament And Fellowship Days A JOYOUS AND HAPPY EASTER TO ALL WILLIAM PENN FRATERNAL ASSOCIATION Officers, Board of Directors, Auditing Committee and Employees. ATTENTION MEMBERS Members of the Association will greatly assist in expediting the handling of their premium payments under the Direct Premium Billing System if they follow these procedures: 1. Box 1807, Pittsburgh, Pa., 15230 before the 20th of the month in which payment is due. The due date is the first day of the first month covered by the payment. For example; those on a monthly basis must get the monthly payment to Pittsburgh, Pa. within 20 days of the first of that month. Those on a quarterly payment basis must get the payment to Pittsburgh within 20 days of the first day of the first month of that quarter. For example; a quarterly payment due for January, February and March, must reach Pittsburgh before the 20th of January. 2. Be sure that you mail the payment in the special return addressed envelope provided for that purpose. 3. Be sure to return with your payment the Premium Due Notice you received in the mail. 4. Please write on the face of the check the certificate number or numbers and the amounts to be credited to each certificate for which the check is paying. 5. If you will follow the above procedure it will eliminate many difficulties with your insurance payments. We are happy to announce that 67 men’s teams and 35 women’s teams or a total of 102 teams registered for our 25th Silver Bowling Tournament. Many non-bowlers are also requesting reservation cards. The Hotel Ohio, Our Headquarters. The Hotel Ohio will serve as the headquarters with the overflow of reservations going to the Voyager Hotel which is just around the corner on Market Street. (Walking time is five minutes and we mean only five minutes.) The Voyager will fill the needs of the bowlers also. The Committee recently learned that the rooms used by the Youngstown University would not be ready for our use as promised by the Hotel. Therefore, we are limited to 150 rooms at the Headquarters Hotel. The beautiful VOYAGER Motel just two blocks from Hotel Ohio will provide 100 rooms occupancy of 2-3 or 4 persons in spacious 2 double bed rooms, or twin-bed with studio couch in each room. While it is always disappointing to find that the commitment made by the Hotel calls for a change, we believe that the change now will actually benefit and please many of the Bowlers, who, in recent years preferred staying at a modern motel rather than in a hotel. We are pleased to announce that we were able to negotiate with the HOLIDAY INN for 80 beautiful rooms in their brand new 100-room Motel located about 5 minutes drive from the Bowling Alleys and 15 minutes drive from the Hotel Ohio. This is the newest and most modern Motel in Youngstown, Ohio and provides 2 double beds in each room, suitable for occupancy by 2-3 or 4 persons. Therefore, bowlers, and friends will be housed at three locations, but this does not affect the participants because two of them are very close on the same block and the other, the Holiday House motel will please those who like to turn in early or get away from the crowd and rest. There will be ample time to make reservations and with the necessity of establishments to fill our needs we will ask all captains to check in at the Hotel Ohio, registration desk for bus schedules, information, etc., and where our Welcoming Committee will await all of you to greet you to our great City of Youngstown, Ohio. Arrangements are in the making for a buffet breakfast to speed our morning bowlers on their way to the buses in time for their starting squad time. Wedgewood Lanes, located on Racoon Road, Austin Township awaits the 25th National Bowling Tournament of the William Penn Fraternal Association. The alleys will be in tip-top shape — all 50 of them. Even the 51st lane will be amply stocked for those who would like a coke! The Big-Top Nursery Room will be available for those parents that are bowling with the understanding that once the children are in the big top that they won’t be disturbed! (Now the children can have some privacy.) The The Beautiful Voyager Motel. Grist Mill will adequately supply anything to everything in the line of food and beverage. Also a room will be available for those who wish to leave their bowling balls overnight. For those (Continued on page 2) I
