3 units) that may be regarded equivalent as regards water supply to 1 m

3/s of flow transferred from the Danube. In the interest thereof the water shortages during the growing season have been processed by 10-day intervals for the period 1901 to 1960 in the Kisköre gaging section on the Tisza River (Table I). The volumes of supply made available by transfer rates of 50 and 100 m

3/s have also been estimated. The number of water shortages during the 60-year period, in 100 million m

3 increments has been listed in Table II, indicating the relief provided by transfer rates of 50 and 100 m

3/s in Fig. 2, Table III and Fig. 3 indicate finally the frequency and duration figures of the water shortages that can be compensated by transfer rates of 50 and 100 m

3/s.
