A Genfi-tó hidrodinamikája 437 The hydrodynamics of the lake under steady and unsteady conditions have been described by Eqs. (1) to (12). The currents simulated were in fair agreement with those actually observed (Fig. 7 ). The seiches were also simulated successfully ( Figs. 9, 10, 11 ). For estimating wind induced wave action, a relationship has been developed involving the wind speeds measured on Geneva Airport (Fig. 12). Although the numerical results agreed well with those actually observed, further experimental and theoretical studies are needed to obtain better understanding of the movement phenomena in lakes. The results outlined here schematically have been published in detail in the English and French literature listed in the references.
