4. füzet - Szilágyi Ferenc-Tóth László-Hoffmann István: A felkeveredés hatása a Balaton vizének néhány formált komponensére

536 Szilágyi F., Tóth L. és Hoffmann I. * * * The effect of resuspension on some of the particulate components present in the water of Lake Balaton by F. Szilágyi, L. Tóth and Dr. I. Hoffmann Over the period from 1975 to 1979 samples were taken from three areas with different water qualities (the Bay of Keszthely, К, the basins of Balatonszemes, В, and Siófok, S) of Lake Balaton, at monthly intervals. The samples were analysed for suspended solids, a-chlorophyl, particulate inorganic phosphorus (PIP), particulate organic phosphorus (POP), particulate organic carbon (РОС) and particulate organic nitrogen (PON). The data obtained are presented and the results of processing them are discussed in the paper (Table I). In the course of data processing special attention has been devoted to the results obtanied by determining the inorganically combined phosphorus (PIP) present in the suspended matter. The mean value of the variables examined was the highest of Keszthely and the lowest off Siófok. The actual values scattered widely about the mean (Table II). At the significance level p< 1% the PIP and suspended matter contents revealed no characteristic differences between the three areas of the water surface. The a-chlorophyl and PON contents in the three areas differed significantly from each other. Moreover, the РОС and PON contents in the Bay of Keszthely diffcrred from those in the basins of Balatonszemes and Siófok. For each of the three areas a linear relationship was found to exist between the suspended matter- and PIP concentrations of the samples, Eqs. (1) to (3). These equations can be used to estimate with a fair degree of approximation the PIP concentration of the water in terms of the suspended matter concentration. By examining the interrelations between the various variables a linear correlation has been established at p-= 1% probability level between the PIP and suspended matter, the POP and РОС, the POP and a-chlorophyl, further between the РОС and the suspended matter in the samples taken from the Bay of Keszthely, Eq. (4), between the POP and suspended matter, as well as between the a-chlorophyl and suspended matter in the samples originating from the water off Balatonszemes, Eq. (5), between the POP and suspended matter, the POP and a chlorophyl, the POP and PON, the suspended matter and a-chlorophyl, the suspended matter and PON, further between the a-chlorophyl and PON in the samples taken off Siófok, Eq. Although we have not succeeded in establishing a deterministic correlation for the POP concentration applying to each of the three sampling areas, the three-variate relationships formulated are suited to the approximate estimation of the POP concentration in terms of the suspended matter and a-chlorophyl at Keszthely and Balatonszemes, while in terms of the suspended matter and PON at Siófok ( Figs. 1 and 2).
