Tatabánya-Bánhida

1930-as évek elején, angol tőkéből felépített bánhidai erőmű, illetve a hozzá kapcsolódó lakótelep vízellátását biztosította. A csendes, családi házas beépítésű erőműi lakópark központi terén álló víztorony angol minták szerint épült. 1992-ig a tatabányai erőmű üzemeltette saját hálózatáról, majd 1994-ben felújíttatta. Tatabánya megyei jogú város önkormányzata 2002-ben helyi rendeletben védett ipari építménnyé nyilvánította. A felújítás óta eltelt közel másfél évtized során azonban a tulajdonos erőműnek nem sikerült a további, megnyugtató hasznosításáról gondoskodnia, így a patinás, a környezetének hangulatát is meghatározó ipari műemlék állapota aggasztó módon hanyatlani kezdett.

It used to provide water for the local housing estate and for the power plant that was built with British capital in the early 1930s. The quiet family houses around the power plant and the water tower in the center were built in an authentic English style. It was operated by the Tatabánya Power Plant from its own network until 1992, and it was renovated in 1994. The local government of the city designated it as a protected industrial building in 2002. In the last fifteen years, since the renovation, the owner has not been able to find a way to utilise the tower. The condition of this industrial monument, that is an important feature of its landscape, has alarmingly started to fall into ruin.
