decrepit little church standing among the large trees in the park of the famous spa, about 10 km from the SW comer of lake Balaton. The bats used the open loft-door, about 7 m above ground. The opening faced the nearby woody slope, toward the west« At the time of study, the population consisted of Myotls myoti s and M. oxygnathu s. The edifice was torn down in 1965. Görömbölytapolca Cave (20°45'E, 48°3'N; 140 m a.s.l.). In the grounds of the Miskolctapolca Spa, 6 km from Miskolc. Some vents of the hardly 30 m long cave open on the mountain slope above it the observation aperture faces the east. It is surrounded by forests, further away by agricultural fields, but the basins and artificial lake of the spa are in its immediate vicinity. In 1956, the cave had been claimed for cave-baths, for the utilization of the mild to warm mineral waters rising in it. In spite of every effort of the spa authorities, bats still use the cave. In the fifties, the majority of the summer population was represented by Rhinolophus euryal e, besides smaller per cents of Miniopterus schreibers i, Myotis myoti s, M. oxygnathu s, and M . enarglnatu s.
