Ez elég reális szám lehet, mert az egerészölyv 47 fészkében lévő aljak tojásszáma a következőképpen oszlott meg. Kettes alj 7, hármas alj 34, négyes alj 6; összesen 140 tojás. A 12 héja fészekalj közül kettő 3-as, nyolc 4-es és kettő 5-ös volt, azaz összesen 48 tojás. Tehát az összes lerakott nagy ragadozómadár tojások száma a kányáéval és a sasokéval együtt egy évben 196 tojás volt. The Raptorial Birds of the Alderwoods in the Hanság By L Horváth Zoological Department of the Hungarian Notional Museum, Budapest According to observations made in the years 1949-1951, the Alderwoods of the Hanság, is in Hungary the area richest in raptorial birds. And more than that,the species are among those of the largest body sizes.The extraordinary phenomenon can be explained by the comparatively undisturbed state of the woods and the diversity of the neighbouring regions. The observations have shown the nests of 66 big raptors, with a yearly brood of 200 fledgelings. Together with the adult birds, the number of large raptors, inhabiting for at least three months the Alderwoods of the Hanság, can be estimated at 330 specimens. The distribution of the species were as follows: common buzzard 47 nests; goshawk 12; black kite Ij spotted eagle 2; lesser spotted eagle 2; booted eagle 2. The total number^ of eggs laid was 196 per year.
