world wars by the INSTITUTE OF PUBLIC SANITATION. Of these, I Included two data onlys the occurrence of Chaetopsylla rothschildl KOHAUT In Mindszentpuszta and Csákvár. The other data of the above institution are known also from more recent collections. I omitted from my list the hosts of Ctenophthalmus agyrtes agyrtes /HELLER/ and its subspecies, because the great number of specimens belonging to the Formenkreis of agyrtes are at the present time under identification By Mr F. Smit, Tring, who very kindly undertook the difficult task of separating and identifying these forms. Of the hosts, I also omit, for the time being, the bird species, since the intensive siphonapterological examination of our home birds and their nests is still under way. These omissions, together with future occurrences, will be submitted in a series of publications in the future. The frequency of certain localities /Mts. Börzsöny, DeBZkáspuszta, Németbánya, Kisbalaton/ indicates that the investigation of the flea species and their hosts were successful in places only where I had occasion to collect for longer periods and in different seasons. This circumstance justifies the following of this method also in the future. It will also mean, of course, a slow and lengthy exploration of the flea species of Hungary - regardless of the rather small size of our country - but we shall at least know better the fleas and their hosts of the investigated areas. I propose to increase the effectivity of my researches by selecting localities more distant from each other, and by paying special attention to the diversity in natural conditions of the sites of collectings. The complete exploration of our Siphonaptera fauna could, even so, be effected in the near future only by the participation of as many research workers as possible, at least in the collecting activities. /Data referring with specimens found in artificial birds' nests are indicated by +/.
