VERTEBRATA HUNGARICA M USE I HISTORICO - NATURALIS HUNGARICI Tom. II. 1960. Fase. 2. On the Systematical Position of Scardinius racovitzai MÜLLER By L. Berinlcey Zoological Department of the Hungarian National Museum, Budapest MÜLLER /4/ described a new fish species, Scardinius racovitza i , from the Püspökfürdő Lake. According to the author it is a relict species of the Tertiary. In this year, I received five specimens from the Lake of Püspökfürdő, by the kindness of BANARESCU. I studied the animals from the point of view of finding out in what respect the new species differs from Scardinius erythrophthalmu s LINNÉ, living in the other waters of Romania and Europe. In the followings, I should like to expound the results of my examinations.
