Food lifts morale. It also offers tangible evidence that the community is still function­ing, that all others are not fleeing in panic, and that the end has not arrived. While on the subject of food in emergency, water also must be con­sidered. In times of disaster, adults need a cup of hot coffee and infants and children should have a supply of milk.
