Branch 503 — Chicago News DELTA SIGMA PI (International Fraternity) Mr. and Mrs. Frank Balogh have reason to be proud of their son, a sophomore at Chicago’s Loyola University. He is pursuing a general course, at present, tending towards accounting and pre-Law. He is making- a good record with the Loyola, ROTC drill team of which he is a member. This drill team is to participate in nation-wide contests to be held soon in Michigan. Recently Frank was pledged into the International Fraternity of DELTA SIGMA PI, which is the Gamma Pi chapter at Loyola. The 5th semiannual formal invitation dinner dance will be held on December 6th. Mr. and Mrs. Balogh’s son is a neophyte —a pledge in other words. We are very happy and we welcome this important news, once again proving that Branch 503 is more than holding its cwn in the university world. DELTA SIGMA PI is a commerce fraternity. This is a professional fraternity which provides all the advantag-es of fraternal affiliation, yet I offers unusual benefits which accrue to the membership which comprises men who have erősen the same profession for their life work. Just such an association is offered by Gamma! Pi to a member who allies himself with it until death. Our best wishes to Frank Junior in his future endeavors. Informatively, Delta Sigma Pi was founded at New York University in 1907 to foster the study of business in ' universities and to encourage, among ether noteworthy endeavors, scholarship and social activity. The Pledge Manual of 1951 specifies that there exist a total of 85 chapters throughout the United States and Canada. We can not but feel proud that branch 503 has quite a record of outstanding- achievements attributable to its hard-working and aggressive members. That Frank Balogh. Junior, is in one of those chains of good achievement is but an example of encouragement that must be a pride to Chicago’s most enterprising and I foremost Verhovay branch. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE VERHOVAY FRATERNAL INSURANCE ASSN. announce with profound sorrow the death of MAGYAR ACKNOWLEDGED MEMBER OF THE ASSOCIATION, Br. 216 Northampton Pa., on November 18, 1952 The Board of Directors, paying final tribute to the memory of our Achnowledged Fellow Member, convey on behalf of the membership of the Verhovay Fraternal Insurance Association, their deepest sympathy to the bereaved family.
