The business meeting was conducted by Mrs. Louis Tosha, Sr„ President, j Plans were begun for a fall dance. The Mother’s Day program was held May 4th. High lights of the program were: Singing by. Michelene Duruttya, Julianna Sera and Rosine Korosy, whose vocal rendition of “Nines Senki Olyan Mint Az Én Anyám” naturally exressed the proper sen­timents of the occasion. Sarah Ko- Irosy was the piano accompanist. Solos were given by Peggy Jean Tosha, on piano, Margie Korosy, on -accordian. Duets were given by Carol Ed­wards and Peggy Jean Tosha, and by Jackie Kleptach and Mike Du­ruttya, Sr. who played accordian and bass fiddle. Three year old Michael Duruttya, Jr., passed out carnations to the attending mothers. A special corsage was presented to Mrs. John Korosy Sr., the oldest mother present with the largest family living. After the conclusion of the prog­ram refreshments were served. Branch 226 PICNIC The Bowling League of the Hun­garian Social Club of McKeesport j and Branch 226 will hold a joint “Get Acquainted” picnic at Kossuth Park, Long Run Road, McKeesport, Sunday June 8, 1952. The program will begin 10 o'clock: in the morning with a genuine Hun­garian bacon fry. This fry will take on the aspects of a contest and the, winner and runner-up will be awar­ded prizes for being real bacon fry “artists”. Dancing will begin at 3 o'clock to the melodies of Arpad Nagy. District Verhovayans and Hun­garians are invited to participate in this gala late spring event. PITTSBURGH, PA. Branch 466 OBITUARY Edmund Peczanyi, age 76, died March 30, 1952. He was a member of Verhovay1 for many years. He was born in Erdőbénye, county i of Zemplén, Hungary. The deceased is survived by his widow, son Edward, daughter Irene, three grandchildren, one great­grandchild and other relatives in various parts of the country. The widow Peczanyi has expressed her gratitude for the immediate ! attention given her insurance claim. PERSON SOUGHT I am seeking my cousin, Louis Varga, who in the early 1920’s emigrated from Hódmezővásárhely to Chicago, Illinois. Varga is between 50 and 60 years of age and is a mechanical engineer. (Mark Twain) Frank Köteles, age 66, former pre­sident and former secretary of Branch 5 for more than 20 years, ,pnd a Verhovay member for 44 years, died April 27, 1952 at the Ravenna, Ohio hospital. Funeral services were held May 1st from the Watson Funeral Home with Rev. T. A. Robertson of Bar­berton. Ohio officiating. The de­ceased was laid to rest in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville, Ohio. A widower since 1925, Mr. Köte­les is survived by the following children: Frank Köteles of Elyria. Mrs. Margaret Ando of Akron, Mrs. Betty Hce, Mrs. Julia (Irene) Ba­­jista, Mrs. Sophia (Sally) Cooper. Miss Emma Köteles, all of Kent, Mrs. Irene Valigora of St. Clairs­ville. The children all live in Ohio. In behalf of the, members of Branch 5, we extend our heartfelt sympathies to the survivors. Fraternally, Julius Liggie Shadi, Manager. Verhovay met with Verhovayan when this group gathered around Governor Frank J. Lausche in his executive office 11:00 A. M., April 24, 1952. The Governor, a member of Branch 14, Cleve­land. accepted a formal invitation to the Ninth Annual Verhovay National Ten Pin Tourna­ment and the National Verhovay Fellowship Days to be held in Columbus, Ohio, May 30—31. Fcr the loyalitv and good will he has repeatedly shown toward Verhovay, Governor Lausche at this meeting was presented with a Certificate of Honor by National Auditor John Sabo and with the Gold Emblem of the Association by Vice-President Dr. Andrew Kovács. Governor Lausche will address the Verhovay members the evening of May 31 in Columbus.
