Tournament Album to Commemorate 9th Annual Event in Columbus Advertisements to be solicited from businessmen, branches, members' and friends. All branches, members and friends of tjie Association, all friends and patrons of Verhovay’s national sports, bowling, are cordially invited to participate in the publication of the Tournament Album to appear shortly before the 9th Annual Verhovay National Ten-Pin Tournament to be held on May 39-31, 1932, in Columbus, Ohio. Each year in the past a substantial 1-umber of branches, many businessmen, friends of the bowlers and supporters of Verhovay’s fraternal program, contributed advertisements towards this purpose. Where the branch-manager is unable to assume this task, another officer or member of the branch may be appointed to act as sales representative for the Tournament Album. Journal January 16, 1952 SPECIAL NOTICE TO ALL.BOWLING TEAM CAPTAINS All bowling team captains are notified herewith that Bowling Tournament Entry Blanks can now be obtained by applying for same through your branch manager. The same rule as applied in last year’s tournament will apply this year. The branch-manager will procure as many entry blanks as are needed from the Tournament Administrator of the National Executive Tournament Committee. Branch managers are requested to address all letters, requests and inquiries in regards to the bowling tournament and entry blanks to Mr. John Sabo, National Auditor, 136 Fourth Avenue, Pittsburgh 19, Pa. The attention of all bowlers and team captains is called to Rulef No. 7 of the Rules and Regulations which will be strictly observed by the National Executive Tournament Committee. The Rule provides a» follows “Applications for Tournament participation must be made under the name of one of the Verhovay branches. The application must FIRST be approved by the branch members at a regular branch meeting. A certified copy, signed by the Branch President and the Branch Manager, of such approval, based on the minutes of the meeting which approved the application for submission to the Executive Tournament Committee, must be forwarded to the Executive Tournament Committee in Pittsburgh, Pa., AT THE SAME TIME the Tournament Entry Blank is filed. In cases where the branch sponsors more than one bowling team the teams will have the privilege of using another name in addition to “Verhovay” to distinguish one team from another. At the bowling tournament each bowler when bowling must prominently display on his or her person some suitable insignia indicating the Branch Number and the location of the branch which approved his team's application blank for submission to the Executive Tournament Committee. Applications for Tournament Entry must be mailed before midnight, MARCH 15, 1932. Applications mailed after the deadline date will be rejected. (Please read Roles 10a, 10b and 10c.)
