Thereafter, in view of the high costs Of living, the Convention, iby unanimous action, sets the following honoraria, effective January 1, 1952: I The honorarium of the Legal Counsel is increased from $2,100 to $2,700 'per annum. j The honorarium of the Chief Medical Adviser is increased from $2,400 to '.$3,000 per annum. i The honoraria of the members of the Board of Directors are increased ifrom $300 to $400 per annum. j The honoraria of the members of the Auditing Commmittee are increased from $200 to $300 per annum. The recommendation of the Board of Directors that the annual salaries of the four National Officers to be- elected, shall be set at $10,000 |per annum, instead of $6,600, is submitted to a vote by the Vice-Chairman, jwith the following result: 60 delegates vote in favor of the recommendation, ;7 opposed. Accordingly, the recommendation of the Board of Directors is Adopted by the majority of the Convention and it is resolved that the decision become effective on January 1st, 1952. ! 187.) On behalf of the four National Officers, National President John ißencze thanks the delegates for their action in which he sees an assurance of the growth of the Association. i 188.) The recommendation of the Board of Directors that the Convention grant $10,000 per annum for the next four years for the Pension Fund, is unanimously adopted by the members of the Convention. 189. ) Chairman then recesses the meeting for 10 minutes. 190. ) The memorandum of the American Hungarian Federation is con­sidered next by the Convention. After discussing its contents point by point, (the members of the Convention take the following actions: I 1.) In reference to the request “that the Verhovay Fraternal Insurance ^Association contribute $1,000 in 1951 to the National Kossuth Centennial Fund,” the members of the Convention vote a grant of $500. 2. ) The request that “The National President, by resolution of the (Convention, urge the officers and members of all Verhovay branches to (donate their services and contributions to the organization and celebration of the Kossuth Centennial in all settlements of Americans of Hungarian •descent,” is unanimously granted and approved by the members of the Convention.0 3. ) The Convention is requested to resolve “that the Verhovay Fraternal Insurance Association shall continue as a supporting member-organization of the American Hungarian Federation and authorize the Board of Directors to contribute to the maintenance of the Federation 1 cent per month per adulti Member, beginning with January 1, 1952.” In regards to this request the members of the Convention decide in favor of the $1,000 contribution per annum. 4. ) The Convention is requested to resolve that “the Association shall be represented in the Board of Directors of the American Hungarian Federation by the Four National Officers and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association.” In reference to this request, the Convention resolves to abide by the former decision and delegate only one representative, the National President of the Association. 191. ) National President John Bencze then rises to speak, briefly stating that he believes and hopes that he has conducted the sessions of the Convention in a fair and satisfactory manner. On behalf of the four National Officers, the members of the Board of Directors and the Auditing Committee, he submits their resignation and calls upon the Convention to elect their National Officers, Board of Directors, and Auditing Committee. He then yields the chair to vice-chairman John Bozsvay. 192. ) Upon motion by John P. Kelemen that the four National Officers be unanimously re-elected, the members of the Convention re-elect by unanimous acclamation each of the former National Officers. Accordingly John Bencze is elected National President; Coloman Revesz, National Secretary; John Szalanczy, National Treasurer and John Sabo, National' Auditor. • 193. ) On behalf of the four re-elected National Officers John Bencza National President expresses their warmest thanks to the members of the Convention for their confidence placed in their National Officers. 194. ) Upon motion by delegate John P. Kelemen, the Convention adopts with unanimous enthusiasm a resolution drafting Henry Gross, former President of the merged Workingriten’s Sick Benefit Federation into the, Hoard of Directors for another four years, in recognition of his meritorious services. 195. ) The election of the two Vice-Presidents follows. :: The following are nominated for the “Hungarian speaking” Vice-Presidency of the first generation: Aloysius C. Falussy, Julius Macker, Frank Radvany, Joseph Szalay and Coloman Kolozsvary.
