The four amendments to the By- Laws proposed by the Board of Di­rectors at the April, 1951, meeting, in regards to subversive elements, the elimination of membership in the sick benefit department from the require­ments of eligibility for the office of representative, the discontinuance of the differentiation between English speaking and Hungarian speaking branches and the reduction of the number of directors from thirteen to nine, are adopted in their entirety by the district meeting. The district meeting resolves to accept the invitation of Branch 249, Dayton, 0., and, accordingly, to hold its next meeting in Dayton, The election of delegates to the Na­tional Convention follows. John P. Kelemen, Stephen Botos, Leslie Veszi, Andrew Hankoczky and John Palotas are nominated from the floor. John P. Kelemen and Leslie Veszi are) elected by secret ballot. The districti meeting expresses its thanks to the Cincinnati branch and to the Krista) and Palotas families for their kind hospitality. The meeting adjourns at 3 p.m. The District Meeting instruct^ the officers of the district to care­fully and correctly write the minutes and send same to the Home Office for publication in the official organ. Minutes taken at the meeting of District 25-B, comprised of Branch 443, held on June 17, 1951, in Detroit, Mich. District President Michael Bur­­dohan calls the meeting to order at( 2:15 p.m., cordially welcoming the members attending. 1.) On request) by the District President, District) Secretary reads the minutes taken four years ago, which are unani­mously approved and adopted by the membership. 2.) District President re­quests the District Secretary to read the letters received by the district office. The secretary announces that new proposals as to the amendments to the By-Laws have been received from the Home Office. 3.) Secretary: reads the proposed amendments adopted by the Board of Directors ati the April meetihg. The proposals are approved as a whole by the members. 4. ) District President calls for the nomination and election of the two delegates and alternate delegates to the National Convention for District) 25-B. Nominated and elected by sec­ret ballot are: Joseph Letenyei (7058 Calahan St., Detroit, Mich.) and Ste­phen Csabi (3115 Chandler St., Lin­coln Park, Mich.). Alternates: Jo­seph Becsi (18923 Robson St., Detroit 35, Mich.) and Catherine Demeter (305 S. Military St., Detroit 9, Mich.). 5. ) District Secretary announces that) the expenditures of the district meet­ing amount to $58.75. July 18, 1951 DISTRICT 25-C Br. 214, Flint, Mich. Minutes, taken at the meeting of District 25-C, held on June 16, 1951. 1.) President calls the meeting to order, welcoming the members and requesting them to voice their opinions in regards to the matters before the meeting. 2.) George Varga, Manager, reads the letter of the Home Office in regards to the National Conven­tion. Branch 214 recommends that' members who are not members of the Sick Benefit Department also shall be eligible to become delegates. 3.) Thel members recommend that self-sustain­ing branches shall have the right to conduct their own branch affairs. 4.) Michael Papp comptroller moves thatr the Board of Directors shall have no right to increase the salaries of the National Officers and employees without action by the Convention. 5.) George Varga, Manager, recommends that the chief organizers shall re­ceive no higher compensation than the organizers of the branches. 6.)
