JOHN SABO, National Auditor. OH, HORRORS! A friend of ours doesn’t approve of the way mathematics are taught in our modern schools. For the last three nights he has been trying to help his young daughter out of a morass'of tangled computation which she has been given for homework. He tells us that neither of them is getting anywhere. Last night his daughter warned him that it was going to be even worse next week. “What happens next week?” he asked. “Well,” said his fellow sufferer, “next week they’re going to begin teaching us the dismal system!” —Labor.
