Our district organizer, Mr. Vassay, didn’t tell us who brought her in, but seeing she lives on “Torda Boulevard,” we assume Louise Torda brought her in. Welcome, 'Anna Maria! We have also a transfer from Branch 14, a Mr. Jack Russell. Welcome, Jack! Let me again call to the attention of our members that our picnic will be held on Sunday, July 6, at Kalo’s Farm, Bedford, Ohio, with music by the well-known Primrose Orchestra of Cleveland. IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT—The July meeting which would fall on the fourth has been advanced and shall be held on Wednesday, July 2. Cards will be sent out by the secretary, notifying members of the Change. However, this is for July only, and all other meetings shall be held on the FIRST Friday of the month. Please pay your dues on time, and write your address On the back of the stubs so that we may be able to check regularly for change of address. Mary Jane Timko said: “It foras an ordeal to come down ,to pay dues. It takes up so much of my time.” (No remarks.) The baseball team of Branch 45, of the West Side, Wasn’t doing very well. After seeing the scores, I thought their opponent had a football team. Salute to Dearborn for their coming affair June 1. Our Ann Biro tells us that we were invited to Dearborn but when we tried to obtain details from her she said, Prepare now for a rainy day: A VERHOVAY plan is the surest way! “It’s very personal.” Anyway, we broached the subject to some of the boys, and in view of what happened at the bowling party of Branch 36, Detroit, they wouldn’t want to go. But Dearborn had a staunch defender in Ann Biro. Again let me say, if we can’t be friends let’s not be enemies. Fraternally, JOSEPH J. HORVATH, Financial Secretary. STAMP NOTES By WILLIAM B. YUHASE Mr. Steinmetz of Los Angeles suggests the formation of a “Verhovay Stamp Club.” I for one would be eager to see this thought carried -ut and a club organized. It is feared, however, that the members of the Verhovay are not numbered in the stamp collecting groups. Some expert recently figured that we in The United States as a whole have less than 500,000 real stamp collectors. Even that figure in my estimation is very high. Our city of Richmond, Virginia, with a population of 200,000, has less than 100 interested members in our local stamp club, and during our philatelic shows, at the request of the exhibition committee, our visitors would be requested to register, and never have we drawn over 500 visitors in 3 nights. So, kind readers, it’s up to you to prove that our local city is different and that there is a much higher percentage of collectors in our Verhovay than elsewhere. Another interesting fact is that the leading weekly stamp journal has a national circulation considerably under 50,000 per year, with a subscription price of $1.00 per annum. However, all of you who are interested in stamps, covers and collecting, please state so by sending this column a note or a penny postal card. After the cards are in we will start the organization of a philatelic club. The average person (myself being below the average) hates to keep up correspondence and shuns it when he can, especially when there are so many outdoor attractions. I don’t know about you Yankees, but we have night baseball and softball games dawn here, swimming, fishing and boat rides in the moonlight during the warm I nights. When days and Verhovayak Lapja The Cube By Amelia Nyers Nature is the most sublime teacher instructing man in the school of life, a conscientious teacher pointing out certain lessons from past mistakes that must be learned in order that there may be a more rapid improvement and development. The sudden discovery of one of nature’s deep-hidden secrets is like a divine revelation; and to the spectator, it is like gazing into a mirror reflecting the glory of God. After some time for reflection, however, the privileged one slowly comes to realize that the principle revealed to him through some mysterious subtle way was not all, but merely one side of a complex cube. What lies in back of the visible side? What is around it? What is concealed above it? What FATHER’S DAY We children should gather our pennies to do A little shopping about which I’m proud to tell you. It’s about our daddy on Father’s Day. He’s such a grand man, I’m sure he’ll say, “Thank you, dear, how nice of you to think of daddy as I think of you.” For daddies love us in every way... “Leave things to me, don’t fret and fear Whatever it may be, I’ll help you, dear.” So you see what I mean when I say to you: Buy daddy something. Make him proud of you. Buy him a shirt; or a tie will do, Or maybe a kerchief with initials in blue. Do this little shopping for daddy, too, As I am today with God’s Blessings to— My Sweet Daddy of Mine. —PATRICIA YOKAY Age 10, Carolina, W. Va. lies hidden beneath it? In his desire to learn the answers to his questions, the student takes a cube within the palm of his hand, and studies it more minutely. Each side is a square; combined, the six squares make the cube. What have these squares to do with the elements, the seasons, man, or the number six? Is man to know only of one side of life and that side turned to him objectively? How can he know of all the sides; of above, below, and around him? Impatiently he sends the cube spinning across the top of the desk and observes that while in motion, other sides of the cube become visible. Through motion is constant change and growth. The mystic has learned how to isolate himself from the rest of the weary discouraged humans inhabiting the earth; and view the uninights get cold, we turn again to our indoor hobbies. I would be delighted to see a swapping organization, that is, exchanging stamps amongst our members on a fair basis, catalog value for catalog value. All of us have duplicates, and all of us love to barter. This could be easily arranged. A hard-boiled collector in Iowa had some particular gladiola bulbs I was much interested in. Finally, after an exchange of several letters, we swapped bulb for some stamps he wanted. At present an old bachelor friend up Maine and I swap stamps about every fortnight or so. So, come readers, send in your postal cards and let us get organized. verse in all its wholeness. He now sees ALL and that ALL is perfect. There is not only reason, but beauty as well, in all the life struggling unceasingly toward a definite goal. No matter how small man may seem against the towering mountains, or how helpless beside the tempestuous seas, his thoughts, however insignificant, are constantly evolving into finer and higher ideals. To the sincere seeker starting on the Path, it is indeed a very rare privilege to be allowed to study each side of the cube as it becomes visible to the. eyes of the soul; and, after a certain amount of time spent in trial and effort, attain knowledge of all the sides, now seen with a loftier vision. Reproduced from The Rosicrucian Digest, published by the Rosicrucian Order, AMORC, San Jose, California. NEW! “BACTERIOSTATIC” FEMININE HYGIENE now finding great favor n among women... , Many doctors recommend regular use of douches as a precautionary measure for women who want to be clean, dainty-for women troubled by offending odor or discharge. Some products may be harmful to delicate tissues. But not Lydia E Pinkham’s Sanative Wash! Pinkham’s Sanative Wash is gaining great favor because it’s NOT a harmful germicide. Instead-it’s a mighty effective "bacteriostatic” (the modern trend). It not only discourages bacterial growth and infection but thoroughly cleanses, deodorizes. Very soothing-relieves minor irritations and discharge and has a tonic effect on delicate membranes. Inexpensive!
