... The Contest Ended-Here are the Results! .. TWENTY-FIVE AMBASSADORS OF THE VERHOVAY WILL SAIL ON JULY 24. —THE WINNERS WERE NOTIFIED BY WIRE! On Saturday, June 19, twenty-five (25) Verhovay members received the very anxiously awaited news from the Home Office by wire! The telegram was a short one from our President, but the meaning of the few words has, no doubt, caused great joy and happiness. It notified each' member that his tireless effort was successful and he was among the lucky ones who will sail to Hungary on July 24. The big membership drive of the Verhovay Fraternal Insurance Association came to a close on May 31st, and after strict accounting, which was audited by two members of theBoard and one member of our Controlling Committee, the winners were notified by wire to prepare for the journey. Within a few weeks, the twenty-five good-will ambassadors of the Verhovay, among them ten older members, and fifteen representing the second generation, both girls and boys, will sail for Europe where th^- will be given an opportunity to renew old acquaintances or be introduced to the birthplace of their parents. It will be a wonderful experience for them, especially the younger members, to se an entirely new world and get acquainted with different customs,, people and countrysides. They will see the Queen City of the Danube, the beautiful capital of Hungary, Budapest, which is modem in every respect. They will have an opportunity to see the large and small villages toward the end of the harvesting season. They will be surprised to find that people in modest circumstances may be, and are just as happy, as the American is in an advanced and modem technical civilization. Here is the list of twenty-five winners, showing not only the names, addresses and the B ranch numbers to which they belong, but also the points they secured during he contest: LIST OF Names of Contestants 1. Our best wishes will accompany them on their long and beautyful journey. Week after week, we receive letters, not only from Verhovay members, but from other Hungarians who would like to join this Ver hovay excursion. They are ready to sail with the winners, at their own expense, to make this event a more memorable one. Consequently, we would not be surprised if a few hudred Hungarians would join our winners on the S. S. Europa. The arrival of the Verhcr vay excursion is anxiously awaited in Hungary, preparations are made for receptions in Bremenhaven and Vienna, and, last but not least, in Budapest....... ....... BON VOYAGE! j New Insurance Feature at The Verhovay DOUBLE INDEMNITY INTRODUCED BEGINNIG JULY FIRST. — INCREASED PROTECTION TO EVERY MEMBER. We have no doubt that every Verhovay member will hear with great pleasure, that, beginning July first, the Verhjovay will grantj additional death benefit in case* of accidental death. We do not have to mention that as fast as the world progresses, the number of accidental deaths increase likewise, even though with modem safety devices we try to prevent this increase and eliminate the causes. The Verhovay, since its beginning, attempted to keep pace with the strides of progress so it is natural that when the time arrived, we had to do something concerning accidents because we want to be up-to-date in every respect in the insurance field, where there is much keen competition. From now on, every member who is over sixteen (16) years of age and has not yet reached sixty-five (65), can have the added protection of double indemnity in case of accidental death, for a nominal sum per month. In this way, we make provision for the loved ones left behind in worry and consternation upon the sudden departure of one who had been a member of the Verhovay. Recently, we mailed the necessary forms to our Secretaries so that those members who wish to carry this additional protection mafy fill out the applications and return them to the Home Office without delay. For double indemnity, the following dues will be payable: $1000 insurance — 25 cents extra per month, $500 insurance — 15 cents extra per month, 250 insurance — 10 cents extra per month, According to the decision of our Directors, the maximum amount of double indemnity is $1000, which means that if a member carries a $2000 policy, he can get only $1000 double indemnity, making $3000 death benefit payable in case of eccidental death. The double indemnity a." mount under the $1000 limit can not exceed the face value of the policy. For example, if a member carries a $500 policy, his double indemnity, can be only $500, too. There are no gradual increases in the rates payable for double indemnity, thus making for equality as far as the various types of work are concerned. Regarding the foregoing, there are no variations between the “white-collar” worker and the laborer in the steel mill, i The stenographer who types
