■ The Bulyovizky Villa (No. 124 Andrátty út) The neighbouring house (No. 126 Andrássy út) was not greeted with adverse criticism. Ervin Ybl, who could see the building in its original shape, spoke in terms of the highest praise for the house. "The villa at No. 126 Andra ay út wat built in 1875 by Guiztdv Petichacher for Vince Weninger I1834—79I. general manager of the General Credit Bank and the architects later father-in-law. In the well-balanced building, rich in fine decorative detail, which it the fint work of Petichacher, the talent of itt builder ii already manifest. He borrowi the clear forrni of the German Renaiaance, thoie that are moit compicuouily pretent about the bürgen' hornet of Nuremberg and the fapade of the Heidelberg Cattle, but theie he combinet with and adjuitt to the requirementt of a modem villa. Blended in the atymmetry of the build­ing. the doted loggia placed on the right-hand iide with the projection and the gable are the picturetque effecti of Old German architecture and the unfettered freedom of the ttylet characteriitic of villái. The picturetque quality of the building ii further enhanced by the carved turfacet of itone and red brick. The roof wat originally covered with green tilet. Petichacher and Henrik Schmall were the fint to introduce the civilited beauty of the German Renaiaance to the architecture of Budapeit.
