Zádor Anna: Neoclassical Pest - Our Budapest (Budapest, 1993)
Almásy-Zichy House, facade vestibule and a staircase. In 1851 Ferenc Wieser (1812-1869) not only expanded it by adding a third floor but also enhanced its facade and inner area with romantic ornaments. What is most important about this still imposing building is not its architectural design but all the historical memories attached to it. It was the home of János Garay, the poet with whom János Arany stayed as a guest for some time, and the printing office of Länderer and Heckenast operated on its ground floor, where they printed the first articles of the free press, the poem “National Song” and the manifesto, “The Twelve Points", on March 15, 1848. On each and every contemporary depiction of the events of 1848, one part of the facade of the Horváth House can be seen. 49
