From the middle of the nineteenth century, the hotel building industry was given a boost with the unification of Budapest and then during the millenary celebrations when one hotel opened after the other. After the Great War came a relatively quick recovery. Then came World War II, which was followed by a period of almost twenty years with no new hotel built in Budapest. However, the new boom that began with the construction work of the eighties is still in full swing. Where the fast-paced investment activity resulting in ever broadening services will take - the industry is an issue to be decided in the years lying ahead of us.
