The Hotel Forüm Hotels built in the eighties and nineties Hotel INTER-CONTINENTAL, formerly the Hotel FORUM No. 12-14 Apáczai Csere Jámos utca, district V Built to plans by József Finta, the hotel, named Forum at the time, was opened in 1981. Construction work was carried out at an extremely high level, even by interna­tional standards. The communal spaces are included in the lower two storeys of the hotel. The eight-floor wing of suites con­tains more than four hundred rooms. The dark brown metal-plated facade has a somewhat sombre effect. According to its operators, this is one of the best run hotels, and indeed its reserved elegance is highly popu­lar with its customers. This is one of the few hotels that even the average Budapest resident dares on occasion to venture into in order to enjoy the services offered by, say, its Viennese Coffee Shop or the hotel sauna, even though these are four-star facilities. Renamed Inter-Continental in 1997, the hotel has recently been renovated.
