The surf pool of Gellert

The elegant Gellért is the most popular baths among foreign visitors to Hungary. Its guests have included mon- archs, princes, counts and the notabilities of the international art and business world. Queen Julianna of Holland spent her honeymoon here and several maharajahs have stayed here with their large entourages during their European sojourns. Other guests have included the King of Nepal, President Nixon, the Prince of Wales, archbishop Pacelli, Rabindranath Tagore and Yehudi Menuhin.

The water of these medicinal baths contains sodium alongside its calcium-magnesiurn-hydro-carbonic and sulphate-chloride components as well as fluoride in significant quantities. It is recommended for degenerative ailments of the joints, chronic and semi-acute arthritis, protruded intervertebral discs, neuralgia, va- so-constriction and circulatory disturbances.
