Meskó Csaba: Thermal Baths - Our Budapest (Budapest, 1999)
The communal thermal bath of Széchenyi tween the vaults are decorated with allegories of thermal, medicinal, fountain and drinking wells, with the allegorical images of Beauty and Strength highlighting the two bays. The glass mosaics of the dome were made by Miklós Vajda and Miksa Róth. Opposite the entrance in a niche is a bronze fountain by sculptor József Róna. It is from the vaulted hall that the communal women’s and men’s thermal departments open, each with medicinal pools of various temperatures, hot-air and steam chambers. Medical and refreshing massages are available in the bathing departments. To the left and right of the hall are the rooms of the side domes, accessible via two four-metre wide corridors. It is from the corridors that the tub bath chambers open, each with a resting. The corridor opening from the left side dome gives on to separate tub bath chambers, where guests can avail themselves of various services, such as underwater massage, carbonic tub baths and mud packing. On the side of the complex towards the City Park Lake there is a communal medicinal bath department for guests 36
