The first “ojbe-like” trolleybüs from 1933 running from Keleti Station to Csertő utca, while route 81 provides communication between Örs vezér tér and the Füredi út housing estate. In Baross utca trolleys were restarted in 1983 (number 83). Although BKV planned to rebuild the original route all the way to Curia utca, the local district council would not allow overhead wires inside Kiskörút (the Little Boulevard). The entire length of the trolley system reached 65 kilometres by the end of 1984, but has decreased since then, as the construction of tram line no. 1 involved the shortening of trolley route 75.
