Buza Péter: Bridges of the Danube - Our Budapest (Budapest, 1999)
The future is to the south The growing transit traffic rolling through Budapest is such a serious concern that the need to eliminate it by the MO motorway ring had already arisen in the 1970s. The ring would encircle the capital, connecting the highways before they reach the city. Naturally, new bridges are needed at the point where the Danube stands in the way of solving the problem. A bridge over the Soroksár Branch of the Danube and the Háros Bridge were built within the framework of this project. Technically speaking these are stretched, reinforced concrete structures with a long span. These two bridges are located on the outskirts of Budapest, lying outside the capital proper.
