Preisich and György Szrogh, while the interior design was the work of Frigyes Gábriel and Antal Vass. The relief decorating the side face was prepared by sculptor István Tar. The foundation stone was ceremonially laid on 19 July 1948, in the presence of leading Party politician László Rajk. The building was completed in the first half of 1950, ready to house, on 18 June, the founding congress of DISZ (the Federation of Young Workers), the first event to be organised here.
