was the authority of Széchenyi's words at the 1838 general assembly of Pest County, that "Fáy’s tales were the first to kindle the spirit of domestic reform in my soul, strengthening my will and the resolve to carry them through.’’ His ideas nourished by Széchenyi's Credit, Fáy had written his 1832 novel The Home of the Béltekyi by that time; the book, which was dedicated by the author to István Ferenczy, has been credited with being "the first social novel in Hungarian” by literary historians. The sculptor made a bust of Fáy. Fáy, Ferenczy and Vörösmarty bought vineyards next to one another in the village of Főt. Commemorated on a plaque were the names of friends and acquain­tances present at the construction of Fáy’s winepress-house; Miklós Barabás, Gergely Czuczor, József Bajza, József Pólya, Gusztáv Szontágh, and Pál Bugát, who had "put stone upon stone between hours of restful dqlight". Ferenczy carved the date 30 May 1837 on the plaque. It was here that Vörösmarty’s poem "Song From Főt” was composed on 5 October 1842. The event was recorded by Mihály Szemlér in an 1872 lithograph.
