Kós Károly tér

1912, was the work of Lajos Schodits and Béla Eberling. The square's design came relatively late in the process and had to incorporate eight surround­ing streets, with sides about 200 meters long. The square was finished in 1926, true to the original design. Towers and gables on the various fagades marked the intersections of the streets. Schools and preschools, police headquarters, a post office, and all other public services were provided. There were numerous complaints in newspaper articles of the time sug­gesting that the work was behind schedule, that the infrastructure wasn't completed before the residents moved in, the schools weren't ready and the area was disconnected from public transport. But eventually it became one of the most liveable, enjoyable neighbourhoods in the city.
