The tower cum building complex was built in 1988 by contractors Közgép—ÁÉV No. 31-Orszak to plans by the companies Potiber (architect Klára K. Artner) and Uvaterv (static engineers András Földi and Endre Reiner) to establish a radio connection between car-phones and landlines. The project was funded in part by the companies using the telephone systems that the tower supported.
