5 Jubilee, do we not raise the significance of it according to the author of Psalms vm, 2. "Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou established strength ?“ And let us add to it, that this Halleluja very often may please God, rather than that of many, of those, who kneel before the altar or who, by night and day, storm heaven with the cry: oh my Lord, oh my Lord; but their heart is far from God, despising his law, and not obeying his command. Well, let others judge of us, however they may please, we shall be contented with this fact that our purpose is pure and noble, that with our Conference, no matter with what few bright relays, but we desire to heighten our Na­tional Millennial Jubilee; and we feel very happy that this favourable opportunity has been offered to us. But we have, Christian Brethren, a still greater strengthener than that of the author of the Psalms even looking down upon our Conference. And this is no other than our Lord Jesus, who following the con­viction of his heart, could go against the whole world’s prejudice, and in order to encourage his few disciples thus spoke unto them: "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you theki ,gdom.“ The words of Jesus, which form our text to-day, as we all know are fulfilled. His disciples who hardly were twelve in the beginning, have founded the Chris­tian Church in the bosom of which so many millions of Christians though in various forms, worship that only one God.
