But we Unitarians of England have had a special sympathy with you, the Unitarians of Hungary; and so, in the name of the British und Foreign Unitarian Association, which I have the honour to represent, I add a further expression of thanks for the warmth of your welcome. Our association desires to convey to you through me how highly it values the fraternal connection between our respective churches, and how earnestly it desires the continued welfare of your church, so largely enjoyed under the excellent leadership of yonr Bishop, Joseph Ferencz. Our brotherly sympathy has beefystrengthened by the friendly and frequent visits paid to you by English Unitarians. The Rev.Edward Tagart was the first, _Ln j8K8rtn visit the Unitarians of Hungary; and his daughter Miss Tagart, is present today. After him, the Rev. John James Tayler, the learned Principal of Manchester New College, and the Rev. S. A. Steinthal bore to you our greetings. The Rev. Alexander Gordon and the Rev. Andrew Chalmers were present at the Tercentennial Festival of the death of Francis David, and the Rev. Henry Ierson at the dedication of the Buda-Pest Unitarian Church. Mr. John Paget, with whose son, Oliver, subsequently one of Garibaldi’s volunteers, I was a fellowstudent in University Hall, London, became a naturalised Hungarian subject. We regard vou with honour as the oldest branch of Unitarianism. and we were in especial sympathy with you when you celebrated in 1879 the martyr-death of Francis David, and when our representatives, Mr. Gordon and Mr. Chalmers, were amongst you; and now, once more, at your Millenial National Jubilee, we are glad to shake hands with you, the members of the oldest Unitarian Chrueh, and to carry home from our meeting with you fresh enthusiasm for the preaching of the Gospel of the only God. We are glad to learn that the old alumni of Manchester College, whom we so cordially welcomed to its class rooms
