My wife, Ethel, and I are both second generation Hungarian-Americans, and certainly enjoyed all those Magyar lessons and vocabularies. It certainly refreshed our Hungarian Language and helped tremendously to recall our early childhood. We were bom Hungarian and we will die Hungarian! We appreciate very much, Mr. Chomos, all the efforts and sacrifices you endured to keep the HETF afloat and we trust that your efforts were not in vain. God keep you in good health always. Gratefully yours, Joseph and Ethel Banks Nemacolin, Pennsylvania Dear Mr. Chomos; Just a few lines to let you know how happy I was to receive your Newsletter, dated: JAN-FEB, ’86.1 was glad to see the name “Hungarian Eighth Tribe Foundation.’’ I always enjoyed the magazine, edited by you, its contents, the Hungarian lessons and all. The history of Hungary was very informative, educational, a pleasure to read. We all enjoyed the humor, the club and society news, and the nice poems, etc. Please let me know, do I have to pay you also to be able to get the Foundation’s Newsletter. If so, please let me know how much? Kindly with-hold name Thank you for the Foundation's Newsletter. I was always glad to read the Hungarian section and the Magyar Reader of the magazine. My father told me “Ne felejds el a magyar nyelvet” — never to forget the Hungarian language. The Eighth Tribe gave me a sense of pride, for being Hungarian. I believe there are many old persons like me in America feeling the same way. My father came to the U.S. in 1902. My father told us about the Hungarian Coat-of-Arms, what it represents. The patrician Cross, the Shield with four white horizontal stripes, stands for; Duna, Tisza, Drava and the Szava (the four rivers). Maybe I am wrong, but I learned it when I was seven years old, in 1923. Isten veled.
