We will have a summary in the February issue; how it came about, its purpose and aim. Also we will print some of the suggestions from our readers concerning the magazine and the Hungarian Cultural Institute. ☆ ☆ THE HATE AND OUR YOUNG By Endre Nánay We are totally blind to the real meaning of human adventure. The whole world, the entire human race lives in unmeasurable hate. It is a split world. Wars, armaments, wealth, poorness and color divide us. Even the smallest unit, the family is not free front loathe within. Not only are colors and races disintegrating but within the same race as well there is rancor based upon the degree of development, profession and schooling, income and wealth. Human communities everywhere are carved up into privileged areas of comfort and wealth and areas of poverty and decay. Continents are geographically broken down into countries and nations. On the same continent, moreover, there are artificial and mechanical divisions so that each nation is the enemy of the other. Political and system differences produce the most explosive situations, the real man-made atmosphere of hate. Even countries within the same basic ideology — the different Socialist — Communist — Marxist spheres are rancorous and despise each other, at least on the level of political leadership. The segregation of society which means that the privileged will remain privileged, is determined by political governments and rulers. Everything is politicized, controlled, indoctrinated, ruled, even the countries which declare themselves to be free. History has never known such multilateral and multicomplex disintegration, forced misunderstandings, methodical misleadings, hate and dissatisfaction. Young and old of every race, creed and color in every part of the world are unhappy. We must wait for the time, when the femine ideal will be mechanically fertilized and the scientists will be able to modify man’s emotions and thoughts and produce the ideal human race. Should we wait? Can we wait? The young throughout the world, East and West, North and South, are impatiently crying out; their fuming music announces: It is enough. It must come .... a most honest, hateless world. But at the doorstep of this new world, not we, hut our children will stand guard. Shall we trust in them, in our own children? We have to trust in them, at least as much as our fathers trusted in us. Perhaps, — even regardless of their failures as supposed by us, — much more, because, let’s admit, the world we produced looks very sad. We have to trust in our young, because there is a part of them, the majority of them, who are valuable and have a broader perspective than we had at their age. We should believe in them, because our suffering and their split-view will create the new concept which could result in the resurrection of the biblical new world. The present young are revolutionary, and more. They demand a reevaluation of fundamental human principles. In their revolution, they promise to turn politics back into the hands and for the benefit of the millions. They are the world of the future or perhaps our world is already theirs as it was and always shall be. We hope our young will make fewer and fewer mistakes and they will advance one step more further than we and those before us. We hope their steps will be bigger and faster than ours ever were, and the world will be happier under their feet than it is today.
