Special recognition was accorded to the Women’s Guild In the November 1978 issue of the Eighth Tribe we presented the New Jersey Hungarian Festival held on September 9, 1978. The above pictures were sent in by Joseph Erdélyi (second generation) of New York City. Mr. Erdélyi is the owner of Erdélyi Music Publishing Co. (358 W. 51 Street, New York, N.Y. under the chairmanship of Mrs. Theresa Bakos, the Social Activities Club with John Canelle as president and the Christian Fellowship headed by Ernest Segady. The closing prayer after the dinner was given by Msgr Dr. Basil Shereghy, pastor of Transfiguration of Our Lord Hungarian Byzantine Church in McKeesport, Pa. The music for the dance was provided by the Arthur Nagy Orchestra. Chairman for the celebration was Ronald Suchant, Vice Chief Elder, co-chairman Mrs. Sophie Shusner. Ticket chair­man was Mrs. Linda Lewis. Publicity chairman was Mrs. Grace Kontz. Table decorating committee: Mrs. Margaret Panko, chairman; Mrs. Eva Suchant, Mrs. Jane Krajewski, Mrs. Kathy Palmer, Mrs. Frank Papp and Mrs. Steve Jordan. Welcoming committee: Mrs. Panko, chairman; Mrs. Mar­garet Oeler, Robert Jordanhazy and Julius Bakos. Patricia Balogh and Chris Szarka, guest book. Program: Mrs. Jo­hanna Doby, chairman; Joseph Mészár, Mrs. Karin Mari­­nello, John Canelle, Andrew Toth, Mrs. Betty Balogh, An­drew Makatura and Mrs. Mary Fedor. He is an ardent supporter of this magazine as the pictures indicate. Recently he played the “Tá­rogató” (Hungarian Clarinet) at the end of the funeral service of Bishop Zoltán Beky in the ceme­tery. He played Bishop Beky’s favorite hymn “Beh Régen Vérezel, Szegény Magyar”.
