Page 10 THE EIGHTH TRIBE August, 1978 Patricia Jean Balogh Patricia Jean Balogh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Balogh of White Oak, graduated from Gene­va College in May, 1978 with an Associate’s Degree in Secretarial Science and she was on the Dean’s List three semesters. Her activities included lettering on the Women's Varsity Tennis Team both years playing 2nd singles and 1st doub­les, Treasurer of Secretarial Club, Intramural sports, namely racquet­­ball and floor hockey, and Wo­men’s > Student Association. She also worked as a Medical Secre­tary in the school’s infirmary and as a desk clerk in her dormitory. Presently, she is employed as a Medical Secretary/Receptionist and Medical Assistant in the Radiation Therapy Department at McKees­port Hospital. Tammy Jo Szarka Tammy Jo Szarka, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Szarka, of White Oak Borough, Pennsylvania, graduated this spring from Mc­Keesport Area High School with a 4.0 average and was valedictorian at the senior commencement pro­gram. Tammy has been active in nu­merous student body functions. She was a member of the Senior Class Executive Board, Vice-Presi­dent of the National Honorary So­ciety, active member of the Stu­dent Council, member of the Year­book Staff and captain of the Mc­Keesport High School majorettes. Tammy is also very active in the Junior Achievement organization in the greater Mon-Yough area and was honored with the Secretary of the Year Award for 1978. As a result of this special award, she will travel to the University of In­diana, Bloomington, Indiana, on August 6th thru August 12th, for nationwide competition. She also teaches Sunday School at the Free Magyar Reformed Church in Mc­Keesport, Pennsylvania. She has received a scholarship award from the McKeesport Col­lege Club and one from the Ju­nior Achievement organization. She was honored in Who’s Who Among American Students, was a recipient of the Rotarian Award and received the best speaker award at the Dale Carnegie class. Tammy will start college this fall at the main campus of Penn­sylvania State University, State College, Pennsylvania, with a ma­jor of computer accounting. Suzanne Eger August H. Daviet, the Headmas­ter of the Rutgers Preparatory School in Franklin Township, N.J., announced that the scholarship committee selected Suzanne Eger, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex B. Eger Jr., of Perth Amboy, N.J., the winner of the 7th grade schol­arship. Mr. Daviet stressed that intel­lectual ability, leadership poten­tial, community involvement and a well-developed sense of personal values were among the qualities the scholarship committee selected the winner. The award carries a $2,000 an­nual tuition grant for each of the next six years. Suzanne Eger en­tered Rutgers Prep in 1974 in the third grade and has been an editor of the Lower School magazine and the yearbook. She participated in gymnastics, softball and tennis and received the RPS award for out­standing service to the school for the last three consecutive years. Outside the school she has follow­ed her interest as a member of a community swimming and diving team, as a Girl Scout, and as an accomplished pianist and enter­tainer.
