March, 1977 THE EIGHTH TRIBE Page 11 Letters to the Editor:— February 22, 1977 Dear Mr. Chomos: I was pleased to read the January, 1977, issue oi The Eighth Tribe, which also included a copy of our Foundation’s fund raising letter signed by Joe Namath. We appreciate and are deeply grateful for the added exposure and visability that you have given our Foundation regularly and, now once again, through the pages of The Eighth Tribe. Your friendship and support of not only the American Hungarian Foundation but of other cultural and educational efforts in the United States is to be commended. As I have indicated to you in person on several occasions your efforts and objectives through your publication are to be applauded. It seeks to fulfill a real need that exists in our American Hungarian life; for it is a magazine that tells the story of Hungarians in America since colonial days as well as relates the cultural history of Hungary. Sincerely yours, August J. Molnár President American Hungarian Foundation * * * February 22, 1977 Dear Mr. Chomos: Your magazine, “Eighth Tribe”, enables me to teach my two sons, ages twelve and fifteen, to be proud that they are of Hungarian background. When l was growing up there was no literature written in English for me to read about the Magyars and their rich heritage and contributions to the arts and sciences. The Social Studies textbooks we read in school vaguely mentioned Hungary in one or two sentences. For the past few years I have made a point of looking for literature on our history and culture for my sons to read. Everyone needs to have roots and to know where they come from. Congratulations on your magazine and continued success. Sincerely, Mrs. Yolanda Csizmadia Astoria, N.
