Ujvági Medical Directors: David P. Anto, MD; Hugh W. Brallier, MD; Vincent J. DeCosmo, MD Dear Friends, Summer has finally arrived! We hope you have the opportunity to travel, visit family, or simply relax in the warm months ahead. Many of our residents have been enjoying the sunshine and colorful blooms in our courtyard, while others have been relaxing on our deck overlooking the Loyalhanna. I'd like to extend my appreciation to all the residents and family members who took part in our 2006 survey. Your responses serve as invaluable input in our endeavors to create a welcoming and caring environment at Ligonier Gardens, and we read this year's replies eagerly. Please remember that my door is open year-round for your questions and concerns; feel free to visit or call anytime. Another word of gratitude is owed to those families who generously donated, in memory of their loved ones, toward our most recent purchase - a large-screen TV for our facility. The downstairs living area is the center of the Ligonier Gardens community, and we anticipate our residents gathering around the new TV for socializing as well as entertainment. After much planning and hard work, our new sprinkler system and generator are up and running. These successful installations will result in an even safer facility for our residents. We'd like to again thank the Richard King Mellon Foundation for their generosity in funding the purchase and installation of the generator. Finally, I'd like to invite family members and residents to submit a recipe for a fundraiser that we are already planning for next year's Relay for Life. We will be selling a collection of recipes in the coming months with proceeds to benefit the American Cancer Society. If you'd like to share a favorite recipe as well as help out an important cause, please send your recipe to Lisa Burkley, Activities Director, at Ligonier Gardens. Have an enjoyable summer!
