Executive Director by Rev. Imre A. Bertalan Well Done Good and Faithful Servant! Dear Friends and Supporters of the Bethlen Communities, I would like to share with our readers the important news of a change in leadership on the Bethlen Communities' Board of Directors. After more than a decade at the helm, Mr. George Dózsa stepped down as Chairman of the Board of Directors at the end of March. Mr. Dózsa was replaced as Chairman by Mr. Jim Szuch, who has been a member of the Board of Directors since October, 2004. George Dózsa became a leader within the Bethlen Home community upon his election to the Board of Directors of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America in 1976. Back in those days, the entire HRFA Board, as well as its National Officers, served on the Bethlen Home's Board of Directors as well. In 1992, Mr. Dózsa became President of the HRFA and, at the same time, Chairman of the Bethlen Home Board. Then later, after revisions were made to the Constitution and By Laws of the HRFA during its 1996 Quadrennial Convention, Mr. Dózsa became Chairman of both the HRFA and the newly formed (in 1 999) Bethlen Home Boards of Directors. He has served faithfully in that dual capacity to the present time. Mr. Dózsa played the key role in developing, during 1996, the Strategic Planning process, which would culminate in the construction and occupation of the new Bethlen Home in 2005. George was prepared along the way to make necessary, but sometimes difficult decisions, which kept the project moving forward. Mr. Dózsa also provided oversight to the many structural changes within Bethlen Communities, which have allowed it to function more productively, and to ascend to the level of prominence within the health care and the American Hungarian communities it knows today. Fortunately, Mr. Dózsa will continue to serve Bethlen Communities, as he retains a seaton the Board of Directors, representing the HRFA. So it is not a farewell greeting we extend today. Instead, all the residents and staff of Bethlen Communities, as well as the other members of the Board, join me in congratulating George and thanking him for the wonderful work he has completed, and the heartfelt dedication he has shown. We echo the words of the Master, as He commended His servant in Matthew 25:21 : "Well done, good and faithful servant!" May the Master continue to bless you, George, along with Matilda and your wonderful family. You have left your good mark on the hearts and lives of many. A Bethlen Létesítmények Barátainak és Támogatóinak: Olvasóinkat kívánom tájékoztatni a Bethlen Létesítmények vezetőségében közelmúltban beállt változásokról. Dózsa György a Bethlen Otthon Igazgató Testületé élén hűséggel végzett több, mint tíz esztendőt kitevő elnöki tisztségétől március végével megvált. Helyébe Jim Szuch lépett, aki 2004 óta tagja az Igazgató Testületnek. Dózsa György 1976 óta szolgál a Bethlen Intézmények vezetőségében, amikor is Konvenció az Amerikai Magyar Református Egyesület igazgatóságába beválasztotta. Az 1992-ben tartott közgyűlés az Egyesület elnökévé választotta, amely tisztséggel hivatalból együtt járt a Bethlen Otthon igazgatóságának elnöki feladatköre. Az 1996 évi konvenció strukturális változást hozott az Egyesület szervezetében, amikor életbe léptette az igazgatóság elnöke tisztségét. Ezt a feladatkört, kevéssel Konvenció után, Dózsa Györgyre bízta az AMRE igazgatósága. Kettős feladatkört töltött be tehát az Egyesület igazgatóságának ez év tavaszán tartott gyűléséig. Fent vázolt feladatköreiben Dózsa György kulcs szerepet játszott az új Bethlen Otthon tervezésében és megvalósításában. Nem egyszer kellett szembesülnie nehéz döntésekkel, de a terv zökkenés mentesen haladt a kitűzött cél felé. Nagy része volt a Bethlen Intézmények életében szükségessé vált strukturális újításokban, amelyeknek megvalósításával az intézmény magas szintre emelkedett az egészségügyi szolgálatok terén és az eddiginél is jobban magára vonta az amerikai magyar közélet figyelmét. Dózsa György továbbra is marad a Bethlen Otthon szolgálatában, amennyiben az AMRE egyik képviselője a Bethlen Intézmények igazgatótanácsában. Nem a búcsú, hanem az elismerés szavaival köszöntjük őt a Bethlen Létesítmények vezetői, gondozottjai nevében, megköszönve a vezetést, az eddigi lelkes szolgálatát, Mesterünk szavaival, aki így köszöntötte a hűséges munkást: „Jól vagyon jó és hűséges szolgám"! Az Úr Isten áldjon, kedves György, feleségeddel Matildával és szép családoddal együtt. Áldjon meg erővel, egészséggel, romlatlan munkakedvvel.
