WELCOMING LOVE! The Hungarian Reform Church in Trenton, Ohio for their Presents for Patients donation. Your kindness was overwhelming and greatly appreciated. Stanley Golden for his generous monetary donation. Your holiday kindness is greatly appreciated. Raymond Gibas for his recent monetary donation and his wonderful picture he made for our facility. All of the resident families who donated ornaments for our Christmas trees this year. They are all so beautiful, and will be enjoyed for years to come. Bob Williams and his dogs for coming and sharing their time with us. Each visit brought WINTER SIGNS Under the tents of cedar trees Are feathery tracks of chickadees, The blue jays stop their scolding now In splendor from a shaken bough. We look up through the brief designs That fall in whispers from the pines. Below are life's small signatures On this hushed beauty that endures. And with the winter signs, we show Upon this unspoiled page of snow How surely in it we confide With our own footsteps, side by side. February is the second month of the year. It is also the shortest month. The name was derived from the Latin word februa, signifying the festivals of purification celebrated in ancient Rome during this month. February was originally 29 days long, but one day was later transferred to the month of August. It is now 28 days long in ordinary years, 29 days long in leap years. The theme for the month of February is "Spread a Little Love". Here are some of the exciting things we have planned for the new month: 4th Bible Study at 10:00 a.m. 6th Mass at 11:00 a.m. 12th Hymn Sing 14th Valentine's Day, Cookie Making 20th Milk Shake Party 27th K-Mart Outing "Love looks not with eyes, but with the mind. " -William Shakespeare -Weather or Not: February is usually cold and stormy in the northern half of the world. But sunny days now and then show that spring is not far off. The air is often crisp and clear. On February 2 the groundhog comes out of his hole after winter hibernation to look for his shadow. If he sees it, he foretells six more weeks of bad weather. If he cannot see his shadow because of clouds, spring is coming. Supposedly the groundhog goes back into his hole if more bad weather is coming and stays above ground if spring is near. Nutty Valentine Superstition {for nuts only): To discover the name of the person you will marry, write the names of all the guys and gals you know on a hazelnut, one name per nut. Roast them over an open fire. The first nut to pop, is the name of your future mate.
