Hey! Keep reading. This is not a notice of increase for room and board rates. I hope this mailing finds you and your love one(s) well and that you are, at least in the northeast, anxiously awaiting the return of spring after a long, hard winter. It has been nearly four (4) years since I began my employment in September of 1999 here at The Bethlen Home. It's been my honor and privilege to serve the residents, staff and families associated with the Home. During my tenure, I have really come to appreciate The Bethlen Home as it provides services to senior citizens in a faith-based, non-profit institution that is organizationally structured to allow for what is truly right in offering health care services to those in need. I am taking this opportunity to thank all the staff members who make The Bethlen Home a special place in the hearts and minds of all those who seek her services. The health care industry as a whole is faced with many challenges such as nursing shortages, skyrocketing insurance premiums and reductions in reimbursement. It takes special people to work in this demanding industry. It is the Home's mission to find caring, kind, dedicated and compassionate people to work together as a team in meeting the residents' and families' expectations. This is our goal. This is not to say that sometimes we may fall short in understanding your needs. However, it is our hope that you will bring your concerns to us so that we may collaboratively resolve the issue. This type of interaction allows for the autonomy we all desire and what we promote to facilitate the best possible outcomes for our residents. In closing, please know that the staff and management are here to create an environment that provides for the dignity, respect and rights of all who enter The Bethlen Home. My door is always open to answer any questions and/or concerns. Although I have not mentioned the building project, please know that The Bethlen Home is committed to bring this project to fruition. In the next edition of The Bethlen Home Messenger a more detailed account of the building project and target dates for construction will be made available.
