r AUGUST, SEPTEMBER, OCTOBER 2000 » FALL ISSUE Sctíbítp FORMER BETHLEN HOME EMPLOYEE HONORED Recently a lot of laughter and tears were shared with former employee Diane Walton when she recently announced her retirement in May. Diane had been an employee of The Bethlen Home for twenty-three years. During that time, she had worked a variety of positions from Activity Director to Executive Secretary where she worked closely with Rev. Paul Kovács until his retirement and current Administrator Michael E. Walker. During this time, Diane has seen many changes in The Bethlen Home including the building of the Administrative Offices and the newer wings in the nursing home built in 1975, which she helped to design. She also was an active participant in the planning of our up and coming new facility which will hold its ground breaking this fall. Trying to surprise Diane was not always easy. With the help of her family and staff members, we were able to surprise her until that evening when her husband tried to take her out to dinner. Still, she was surprised to see so many friends and family that had turned out to celebrate and recognize the importance of the role she had played over the years here at The Bethlen Home. Pat Armel, Social Service was Master of Ceremonies for the evening, along with Rev. Imre Bertalan, Executive Director and Michael E. Walker, Administrator. A night of memories, joy, laughter and tears were recalled. Diane and her husband Carl will be retiring to Austin, Pennsylvania. The staff presented Diane with a wishing well that will be used at her new home as a planter along with other various gifts. May God continue to bless you on your new venture as you retire Diane. We will miss your smiling face, laughter and joy you brought to so many over the years. Pictured above, left to right: Michael E. Walker, Administrator, Diane Walton and Rev.
