Cíjapltnő Corner By Rev. Dr. Josepj Posta ON MOTHER'S DAY In every resident's room, pictures hanging on the walls recall old memories of loved ones. If you ask a mother about their identity, the response with smile and tears will come to you. This is my son, this is my dear daughter, they are my great grand children...and so on. MOTHER, the very word inspires all who have had the pleasure to feel the comfort in her embrace and experience the joy in her smile. Mothers are lifegivers, caretakers, teachers and friends. The inseparable bond between mothers and their children begins at the moment of conception. The mother is introduced to a whole new world and knows she has received a God blessing unlike any other. A mother answers her child's hungry cry, feels joy at the first smile and first step. She treasures the idea that a piece of her heart will be walking and running around in someone's little body. In the early morning hours, when mother and child are at peace, rocking to and fro, all is right in the world. Nothing in the world can compare to a mother's love. It is the force that brings us into existence and sustains us through a lifetime. A mother inspires with her quiet strength, comforts with her tenderness, and awes with her endurance. To her infant, she is the whole world. To her adult-child, she is a haven of support and guidance. Throughout our lives, she is our protector, our mentor, our heroine, and our friend. When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts. You are connected to your child and to all those who touch your life. A mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child. As her child begins to take care of itself, the mother learns to let go. She changes roles and becomes a friend and confidante. Her love is manifested in hugs and kisses but also in her consistent support of everyday accomplishments. Mothers have a unique ability to understand their children when no one else can. They will always be ready with advice for their grown children, even when it is unsolicited. After all, around the idea of one's mother, the mind of man clings with fond affection. It is the first thought stamped upon our infant hearts, when we are yet soft and capable of receiving the most profound impressions, and all the after feelings of the world are more or less light in comparison. I wonder that, if even in our advanced age, we do not look back to that feeling as the sweetest we have ever known through life. Children express their love for their mothers with gifts of flowers. Here at The Bethlen Home, on that significant day in a special way, we will remember and honor all the mothers and ladies of our residents. Have a joyous Mother's Day. Rev. Dr. Joseph Posta, Chaplain And God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit; you shall have them for food. And to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food. "And it was so. And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. Genesis 1:29-31
